New Providence, Bahamas – All Summer long, Presidente, the number one beer in the Caribbean, has been uniting the islands through music, via the ‘Presidente Music Vibes Tour’. Along with their Bahamian partners, Bahamian Brewery and Beverage Co Ltd (BBB), they are offering amazing concert experiences on various islands for music lovers from Aruba to the United States. On Saturday, the tour made its way to the shores of The Bahamas where residents from around the island of New Providence - clad in short, sandals, and yes even barefoot – answered the call to be United by Rhythm.
Launched in 1997 as the Festival of Latin Music, the series of concerts have evolved into a tour that encompasses the sounds of the Caribbean region; from Reggae and Soca to R&B and Hip Hop. The lights of the National Beach Soccer Stadium glowed green for the launch of the series of shows which will feature local and international artists.
“The Presidente Music Vibes Tour is a music platform that brings together people, music, and rhythms from all over the Caribbean” explained Presidente Sales and Marketing Manager Manuel Bartolo. “The Caribbean is all about beautiful beaches, sun, energy, flavor, beautiful women, and beautiful music, which is why we wanted to bring this event to The Bahamas as well. Even though we don’t speak the same language, we all are the same people” he said.
To execute the event, Presidente joined forces with its local distributor, the country’s ‘Truly Bahamian’ Beer Company, BBB, along with NU-Level Entertainment to host two days of events; the first of which saw hand-picked members of the media, local DJ’s, Bahamian artists, influencers and other invited guests gather to meet headliner and international reggae sensation Konshens, who treated guests to an acapella rendition of his chart-topping song ‘Bruk Off Ya Back’ at a mix and mingle at Senor Frogs in Downtown Nassau on Friday September 22.
On Saturday, September 23, Konshens again took to the stage, this time performing a high energy set filled with a myriad of his hit songs which included Do Sum’n, Gal A Bubble and To Her with Love. Equally important to the musical lineup, however, was the list of premium Bahamian artists and DJ’s who were also hand-picked to perform including Foots, Sammi Starr, and Judah Tha Lion.
“At the core of the BBB philosophy is a commitment and dedication to all things Bahamian. We are Truly Bahamian and we carry that into everything we do, which is why it only made sense that we included talented Bahamian artists on the lineup for this series of concerts” explained Sales and Marketing Director Wellington Seymour. “We couldn’t be more pleased with the caliber of local talent that has been chosen to be a part of this event. These artists are proof that Bahamians can stand their ground with the best in the world and on any platform” he said.
After wowing audiences with its launch, the concert series will continue next month with American hip hop recording artist Kent Jones, best known for his commercial debut single "Don't Mind", which reached number eight on the US Billboard Hot 100 charts. He will play in downtown Nassau at Smugglers’ Square on October 14th with tickets available with the purchase of a six-pack of Presidente beer at any Jimmy’s Wines and Spirits location.
